Il fait beau, il
souffle un bon 4-5 du nord. Toujours pas très enthousiaste. Jens me dit qu’on
On aurait pu longer tranquillement
demi-tour, on continue.

The weather is nice, still
blowing a good F 4-5 from the north. I am not so eager to sail. Jens tells me
that we try two hours and if it really does not work, we come back. Good.
We take water and
diesel and we leave. It is 9.30 am. We paid the marina fees at the shop, they
manage the marina as well.
We leave to the south,
and then turn west. As long as we are protected by the islands, the sea is calm
enough but after that the waves are two meters. The wind is north, north-west, and
we are quite closed handed, sometimes almost to close. Maja is progressing well
and all is well ... for an hour! I took a seasickness tablet but after an hour,
it does not work anymore. And here we are again, just like last year, I'm
completely knocked out. I half-sleep, I vomit and half-sleep again. Jens is
full time captain. I can not eat, I drink a little and as an efficient diet, I
can recommend it! After 10 hours of sailing, we both said that it was perhaps
not such a good idea to go to Shetland ... We could have had a nice, relaxing
cruise, following the coast northward to Askrova, Svanøy, Floro ... but it is
too late to turn back, we continue. At one point I have to go to the bathroom.
The boat is rolling a lot and Jens, nice husband, changes course and turns almost
downwind, so the boat does not roll that much. A voice calls us on the radio:
"Maja, Maja, why do you change course? You are okay? Are you fishing?
". This is a "supervisor" on an oil platform. When Jens replies
that it is to allow his wife to go to the toilet more comfortably, he laughs!
We do not go directly
to Shetland but a little further north. The wind will turn west and like that
we will not have it in the nose at the end.
At 8 o'clock in the
evening, I feel a little better and I can take the wheel, so to speak, the
autopilot does the work. The waves are not as high. Jens goes to bed and
sleeps. I wanted to do four hours but after 3 hours, I start to vomit again.
Jens takes the wheel. But he slept three hours, that's something. I sleep and
resume at 5:00 am on Thursday.
